Senior Catering Project Manager

Full-time | Amsterdam area & De Kromhouthal

As a Senior Catering Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the entire operational planning of our catering events at De Kromhouthal and Circa. Once a catering proposal is finalized, you’ll turn it into a solid and executable plan: from staffing, suppliers, and logistics to materials, scheduling, and operational plans.

But the commercial process doesn’t stop there. As an event approaches, numbers, programs, and requirements change, and new opportunities regularly arise. That’s why you think not only in operational terms but also commercially. You advise the client, identify opportunities, and at the same time monitor quality, feasibility, budget, and margin.

You serve as the link between catering, sales, suppliers, staff, and the operational teams. On the day of the event, you will hand over full responsibility for production to the Party Manager in a clear and thorough manner, so that they can focus on ensuring a flawless execution.

What are you going to do?

You are responsible for the entire preparation process for our catering events. This includes, among other things:

You translate approved catering concepts and proposals into concrete and actionable production plans.
You will monitor the schedule, budget, profit margin, deadlines, and changes to quantities, the program, and catering arrangements.
You identify operational bottlenecks and commercial opportunities and coordinate with the client, sales, and catering regarding these matters.
You determine staffing needs and organize the schedules for the waitstaff, bar, kitchen, runners, and party managers.
You coordinate with our flex pool, staffing partners, and suppliers, and monitor hours, costs, orders, and delivery times.
You’ll develop clear catering plans that bring together elements such as timing, staffing, bars, food stations, kitchen planning, and logistics.
You ensure that materials, resources, suppliers, and teams are fully prepared and ready on time.
You’ll work closely with the project managers at De Kromhouthal and Circa to ensure that catering is a seamless part of the overall event production.
You will handle the briefing and handoff to the Party Manager and remain available to address complex operational issues.
You evaluate productions and use those insights to further improve processes and future events.

Who are we looking for?

You’re an experienced project manager who thrives on complex productions and loves it when all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. You maintain a clear overview when multiple large events are running simultaneously, think ahead, and prefer to identify bottlenecks before they arise. At the same time, you have a commercial mindset. You understand that a production is in constant flux between the sales and execution phases. You excel at interacting with clients, actively contribute ideas, and recognize when a change or additional request also presents a commercial opportunity.

You'll need to bring:

At least 5 years of relevant experience in catering, hospitality, events, or event production.
Experience with large-scale catering operations and events.
Experience with workforce planning and supplier management.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
An independent, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to work.
The ability to monitor multiple productions, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency in Dutch and English.
